NEW – Archibald Jones & The Lowering of Crystal Lake Exhibit

Explore the story of Archibald Jones through an immersive exhibit that begins with the formation of Crystal Lake during the Ice Ages. Early maps and photographs trace the region’s transformation from its Indigenous origins to the development of new towns and industries. The exhibit also examines the ambitious 1873 plan to connect Crystal Lake and other inland lakes to Lake Michigan with canals, and the lasting, unexpected impacts of that effort.
