“You’re a Grand Old Flag” – Special Exhibit

In 2026 we celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial, and the flags that have represented our country.  The museum’s exhibit for this year focuses on these flags that have signified the growth of a nation.  The flags are from the museum’s collection and on loan from flag collector, Paul Burns of Thompsonville.

Generally, when a new state was admitted to the Union a new flag was designed with the additional star.  There have been 27 different American flags.
