If you visited the Museum this summer, you may have looked out from the lobby window to see the work in progress with our new Archibald Jones Historical Research Center (AJHRC).  The project is going along at a rapid pace, with the walls up, windows installed, roof on, and the interior spaces beginning to take shape.  We are looking to complete all construction this fall and working towards opening the facility to visitors in Spring 2026.

The new AJHRC will offer expanded space for our Benzie Archives and a new Research Library.  Also included will be a new Exhibit Hall where we will feature the story of Archibald Jones and the Lowering of Crystal Lake in 1873.  This event had a major impact on Benzie County, leading to rapid development of our area, including the Village of Beulah, the Ann Arbor Railroad, and new resorts along the shores of Crystal Lake.

The AJHRC is an exciting project for the museum and for our community!  Thank you for your support!!
