“Point Betsie: Caretakers of the Light”

With a life-long connection to Benzie County, Marc has spent nearly every summer at his family’s cottage on the north shore of Crystal Lake.  His love for history has been developed through work on archaeological projects in Bolivia, Johnson’s Island in Ohio and with the Michigan Industrial Boarding School in Mt. Pleasant.  He has also worked as a historical interpreter at Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island.  Marc is currently pursuing a Master’s in Cultural Resource Management at Central Michigan University, with a focus on Indigenous Great Lakes history.
