2023 SUMMER EXHIBITS
BOAT SINKING, KART RACING, AND LAKE LOWERING, OH MY!
We’re pleased to share our summer exhibits and programs schedule as we acknowledge two major Benzie County events; namely, the sinking of the Ann Arbor #4 100 years ago and the 150th anniversary of the lowering of Crystal Lake.
The Kart Road Races in Beulah – circa the early 1960s – are featured in our third seasonal exhibit, which includes video footage of a International Kart Federation sanctioned race, a first for our Museum. The exhibit also includes an actual kart used in the races as well as trophies, apparel and ephemera.
SUMMER LECTURES
Our Benzonia Academy Lecture Series is offered on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at The Mills Community House.
Coming June 8, Ann Arbor car ferry historian Grant Brown, will present Car Ferries in Ice.
WALKING TOURS, CAR FERRY TOUR, COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT, AND HEADSTONE CLEANING PROGRAMS
Be sure to check out the upcoming programs and events as there’s a good variety of activities and subjects. Please note that reservations for walking tours and the SS City of Milwaukee tour are required and may be made 30 days in advance. The tours are generally filled quickly so be sure to register on our website or call the Museum to reserve your space.
