The issue of election integrity has divided Americans in recent years. Concerns over election security were raised as a result of the 2020 presidential election and were a key topic of discussion during the most recent presidential campaign. Have you ever wondered what happens to your ballot after you vote in an election? Do you know how the Electoral College works? Mike Nagle, West Shore Community College Professor of history and political science, addresses these and other questions associated with elections.

Michael W. Nagle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and a Master of Arts degree in history from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. He teaches history and political science at West Shore Community College, in Scottville, Michigan, where he also serves as chair of the social sciences division. Nagle is an award-winning teacher and noted speaker covering a range of topics in American history, Michigan history, and student success and retention in the online classroom. His most recent book, The Forgotten Iron King, Eber Brock Ward, 1811-1875, published by Wayne State University Press in 2022, won the State History Award from the Historical Society of Michigan. Nagle lives in Ludington, Michigan.
