Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Archibald Jones Historical Research Center

On Saturday, December 14th, over 30 volunteers and guests attended a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Archibald Jones Historical Research Center (AJHRC). Our own Dr. Stacy L. Daniels reenacted Archibald Jones “pulling the plug” on Crystal Lake. After a group photo featuring members of the Board and Building Committee, attendees came inside the museum to warm up and hear more about the project.

The AJHRC will be an addition behind the current museum, featuring a new Archives Room, Research Library, Exhibit Hall, and outdoor stairway leading to our lower campus. Plans are now in place to begin construction in early 2025, and we hope to complete it by Fall 2025. A fundraising campaign will commence soon, but thanks to a generous donation by Dr. Stacy L. Daniels and his wife, Carol Yvonne Daniels, most of the funds needed for the project have already been raised.

We will share more news about this exciting new project in the new year.  In the meantime, thank you to everyone who attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony!
